Photo Contest

Another photo contest!  I love having these photo contests and I hope you all enjoy participating.  Here are the rules:
1) Picture may be of you, someone else or just your Grant Me Yarn item, but GMY item (hat, coffee cozy, headband, etc) must be clearly visible in the photo.
2) You may submit one photo per GMY item.
3) Only "likes" will count as votes.
4) The more people that participate, the more prizes I will give away!
5) Photos may be submitted now through 12/28. Voting will begin 12/29 at which time, I will also announce what the prizes are (trust me - they will be good!)  :)  Send photos to autumngrant@ymail.com

Back-to-School Photo Contest

I want to have a back-to-school photo contest!  Send me a picture of your child(ren) dressed and ready for the 1st day of school.  There will be 2 winners and each will receive a $20 credit toward anything in my shop (does not cover shipping).  Here are a few rules:
1~ This contest is for school aged children (preschool - high school).
2~ You may enter as many of your children as you wish, but only 1 photo per child, please.  Email pictures to autumngrant@ymail.com.  I will collect all the photos and put them in an album that will be posted on the opening day of the contest.
3~ Entry deadline is 10 pm Pacific on Monday, September 12, 2011.  Contest will end on Friday, September 16, 2011 at 10 pm Pacific.
4~ One winner will be the picture with the most likes.  Another winner will be chosen by a panel of my personal friends (who have no affiliation with the contest).  Decisions are final.
5~ You must be a fan of "Grant Me Yarn" on Facebook to win.
6~ Have fun!
Fine print: $20 credit may not used be with any other discount and it does not cover shipping.  Must be used by 1/31/2012.

9^th Day of Christmas Treasure Hunt

I have created a treasure hunt with 14 items up for grabs – everything from free shipping to $1.00 - $3.00 off your purchase, to free hats and coffee cozies with a purchase.  These items are “hidden” in various photo descriptions in my photo albums and begin with “Treasure Hunt Item….”  The first person to comment “MINE!” (or something to that effect) under the photo gets that item.

Now a couple “guidelines” – please do not claim the prize if you do not intend to use it because there are others who will.  Secondly, please do not claim more than 2 so everyone gets a fair shot.

One last thing, the items are NOT in the “Wall Photos” or “Cutest Kid” Albums….all other albums are fair game.  J

RECIPE EXCHANGE

Getting tired of making the same ol’, same ol’??  Get lots of fun new recipes with this recipe exchange!!!  Send your recipe(s) to me at autumngrant@ymail.com by June 30, 2011.  I will compile all the recipes into 1 nice document and email it back out to everyone who contributed.  Recipes can be for anything – desserts, your favorite meal, quick & easy dinner ideas, cool summer drinks, etc.  The more, the merrier!

Refer-a-friend Incentives, $10 off & a hat for $5

During the course of the “12 Days of Christmas in June” sale, I have already been running a “refer your friends incentive,” which is:  Tell your friends about Grant Me Yarn, have them “like” my FB page and then post on my wall saying (your name) sent them.  On June 29, at noon (PST), Random.org will draw one of those comments and you and your friend will receive $10 off your order.  (The discount can be used during the Christmas sale and must be used by July 15, 2011 or it will expire.)

Now, in addition to that chance to win, I am offering you another incentive to refer your friends.  Between now and June 29 at noon (PST), the person who refers the most people (which I will track by them leaving comments with your name on my wall) will receive any one hat of their choice for $5.00 (does not include shipping).  Hat must be ordered by July 15, 2011.

Photographer Discount

I want to do a standing 30% discount (regular shipping charges still apply) for items that photographers wish to use as props for their photography.  I am ironing out a few details so feel free to give me feedback on things that you feel may be unreasonable or if there is something that would work better for you.

First of all, I must say upfront, my shop will most likely (99.9999% sure) be closed to custom orders from the end of August – December 2011.  So, if you want items soon, please place your order by July 20^th-ish.

Secondly, in order to qualify for the discount, you must provide me with a link to your web site or FB fan page….this not only provides verification for me that you are a photographer, but also provides you with advertising from my FB page.

I would like rights to at least 1 photo from each item you purchase from me so that I can post it on my site.  If you want to provide a couple photos, that would be great! 

Also, when you purchase an item, I would like an approximate time frame of when I can expect the first photo.  If you buy an item just because you think it’s cute, but have no special shoot in mind, a time frame of “1-2 months” is acceptable – I just want an approximate.  :)

One other thing -- there are TONS and TONS of crocheted photography props that I have seen but do not have patterns for (yet!).  If you see one that you like that I do not already carry, please provide me with the link and, most likely, I will be able to make it!
